Onara Films has embarked on a brave new strategy to fund it's films. Please see the essay (link) on the state of the Australian film industry to learn why we think this is neccessary.

What we have done is to found a merchandise shop for our films - before they are made. You can go to the online shop: http://www.cafeshops/nightsight and purchase t-shirts, jackets, mugs, backpacks and other merchadise for each of our films. Revenue from the sale of these items goes directly to the budget of our films and once the entire budget is made we will begin production. And as a bonus to reward the investors (because that's what purchasers are) anyone who turns up to the opening week screenings of the films wearing one of the t-shirts gets in free. We also offer a limited number of cast and crew issue items which are available for higher prices because these contribute more to the budget, for example: you can buy an executive producer shirt for around $10,000 and actually get an executive producer credit on the film as well as other cool extras. Seems only fair since a lot of Hollywood types buy their way into film projects all the time, when was the last time Katzenberg exposed a frame of 35mm?

This is currently our most commercial project. It has representation by a Hollywood Agent, has been shopped extensively, has been read by Johnnie Depp (still waiting to hear back though:) ), has half of the budget in place - 2.5million AUD, has a number of good Australian Actors attached, has some award winning crew attached, has a commercial storyline with credibility as well.
